Flaky Buttermilk Biscuits

  • 1/2 Cup Butter, cut up or marg
  • 2 CUPS Self rising Flour
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • butter or marg, melted
Cut  1/2 cup butter into flour with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
Add buttermilk, stirring with a fork just until flour is moistened.  Turn dough
out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead 4 or 5 times.

Roll dough to 3/4 inch thickness; cut with a 2 inch biscuit cutter.
Place biscuits on a greased baking sheet.

Bake at 450 for 8 to 10 mins or until golden.  Remove biscuits from oven,
and brush with melted butter.

Yield: 16 biscuits.
