Sour Cream Biscuits

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter or marg, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 milk
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/8 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp vanilla extract

Combine first 3 ingredients; cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
Combine milk and next 4 ingredients; add to dry ingredients, stirring with a fork just until dry ingredients are moistened.

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead 3 to 4 times.
Pat or roll dough to 31/2" thickness; cut with a biscuit cutter, and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake at 450 degrees for 7-9 minutes. 

Yield 3 dozen.
