A day trip to Saltspring Island to visit our friends Martin & Boe. We took the Crofton-Vesuvius ferry which runs every hour. Saltspring island is quite close to Vancouver island and has a large population of artists and sheep (although we did not see any sheep).

Saltspring seems to have all the amenities, including regular flights to several locations. It even has its own web site. There are wonderful views of the gulf islands from the top of Mount Maxwell.
