COFFEE CAKE MUFFINS

1 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
2 TSP. BAKING POWDER
1/2 TSP. SALT
1/4 CUP BUTTER
1/2 CUP SUGAR
1 EGG
3/4 CUP MILK
1/2 TSP. VANILLA

SPICE MIX:

1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon

Put first three ingred. in large bowl. Stir together. Make a well. Beat butter, sugar, and egg together. Mix in milk and vanilla. Pour into well. Stir to moisten. Spoon part of batter into greased muffin tins 1/3 full. Sprinkle spice mix over top. Spoon rest of batter over top filling 2/3 full. Bake in 400 F over for 20-25 minutes.
